All the info you need to know for Bluegrass Regionals (minus uniform fiasco)
Please initial this post when you have read in FULL
We will bump and pin the post for hair and makeup to the top of the Facebook group! Especially to older girls – there is to be ZERO hair down in the face or “whispies” pulled out anywhere around the face at all. We do not want you to have to re-do their hair, so make sure there is absolutely nothing in their face unless they are natural bangs they typically have. ZERO. Clean, ALL white cheer shoes are required for all teams (no specific brand requirement) with NO show socks with zero color on them. You will get bows this week, we will distribute them as soon as we get them. Also, if your child requires a bra – PLEASE try the uniform on with them before the day of (if applicable). We do not want bra straps showing or colored bra’s and this is a tricky uniform to do that with. Older Momma’s can probably give suggestions on which to wear!
Per the mandatory meeting, the packet, original regionals save the date post in the group – everyone is required to stay. There should have been no room for confusion here as we covered it in the meeting and it’s in bold in the packet – but I’ve still heard people are asking. I can check if there are anymore rooms where coaches are and book with us – just let me know.
Competition Address:
Central Bank Center
430 West Vine Street
Lexington, KY, 40507
Doors Open at 7AM.
Performance Hall:
We are in Hall C which is located on Level 3. For those new to cheer, they will have multiple halls with multiple performances going so this is where we are located. Here is the link to the layout of those.
https://www.centralbankcenter.com/assets/doc/CBC-BROCHURE-July-24-Web-dbda2dc64f.pdfArrival Times for ALL teams: 7:30AM This year we are going to get the program photo BEFORE we compete to eliminate that stress as well. We can also take photos with trophies and a banners in the event we receive them, but would really love to get a program photo early. We will meet at the bottom of the escalators where all the large open windows are. When you walk in the main entrance, you will just go straight through that hall and will see the escalators/stairs. There is a large open area (for older parents – this is where we always hang after we perform and where we’ve taken photos before)
All will need to be fully dressed and ready to go including hair, shoes, make up, bows in, etc. They cannot take any bags, phones, etc with them when they leave with us. Just the girls and a drink if you would like to send them with one, but must be in a bottle we can discard. If possible, please try to take them to the restroom as close to meet time as possible – a lot of kiddos with snap uniforms can be a super fun time LOL! PLEASE give yourself time for traffic and parking – it can add a considerable amount of time to travel no matter how close you stay.
With all times being so close together, we are going to go ahead and take all girls together this year. Sadly, that means parents will be responsible for crowd involvement for youth! We have an army – so we know you’ve got this!

After each team performs, parents can stay on the left side of the stage and we will walk them out to you there. Please stay to get your child as we have to immediately go back stage for the other teams and we won’t allow to out of our sight without a parent or face that we know. Of course, we will keep the crossover kiddos with us to rush back to warm ups that are already happening for 18U but at least they will be nice and warmed up LOL!
As you can see – our teams are warming up and performing at the same times, so you can imagine the behind the scenes stress on top of everything else. It basically sets me up to miss something at some point and it cannot be warm ups, so I am beyond freaking out at this point!
Here is the link to purchase tickets for spectators in advance, this is strongly suggested as lines can be less than fun on the morning of:
https://www.showclix.com/tickets/jamfest-lexington-classic-r8w1ua6For awards, they only listed “Awards Hall” which I can only assume are the ballrooms like prior years. Currently, our awards time for the whole program is 10:30AM. Fair warning, you can absolutely bank on that being late. After all teams perform, we will plan to meet outside awards hall at 10:20
Family and friends unable to attend, they broadcast this competition live on Varsity TV. It is not free sadly, but it is a great option for those that cannot attend. Typically, the event halls are labeled on the app/website so you would tell them Hall C. Here is the link it will be broadcasting the day of:
https://tv.varsity.com/signup?redirect=%2Flive%2F131523Immediately after awards – everyone is free to go. If your child wants a photo with any awards we may receive – we will go to the same location we did afterward last year. Walking out of the awards hall, immediately to the left and outside the restroom is a small area at the end of the hall in front of the windows that typically clears out very quickly and is open. Do not go back to the open area with escalators as it will be insanely crowded and kids will get lost in the shuffle from awards to photos while everyone shuffles out. We go left because everyone else goes right to get the heck out of there! LOL
Newbie Momma’s, they usually have event specific Varsity attire at these events, so be prepared for your child to want all the things but also prepare them for long lines and potential items to sell out. Luckily, we are one of the first programs there so we are usually good to get what we want. The event tees with all programs listed will absolutely sell out – and youth sizes go first every time!
As long as we receive our Nationals (the Summitt is the Rec Nationals event) bids, the November schedule will stay as posted. Prepare for adding practices during our current week off should either team not get a bid and another gameplan. December schedule can be two very different versions – so for those asking about December we cannot provide you a schedule until we know the results of the weekend. If all bids are received, you can plan on it looked pretty much the same before the additional practices picked up this month. 18U will go back to one day and other teams will keep their normal 2 days.
We’re super excited, especially for the kiddos (and we have a LOT) who have never competed at all or on this level. Feel free to reach out with any concerns or questions that have not been covered about the competition only. Uniforms and other info will be a separate post.
